Suhas D. Mantri, MD, an innovative and caring urogynecologist at The Women’s Centre in Denton, Texas, was one of the first physicians in the North Texas area to perform a laparoscopic hysterectomy, back in 1986. Dr. Mantri specializes in state-of-the-art, minimally invasive surgical techniques, including da Vinci® robotic surgery. Since 2004, he has devoted his practice to urogynecology and now specializes in urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, and prolapse.
Dr. Mantri earned his MD at Grant Medical College in Bombay, India. He journeyed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to complete his internship at Nazareth Hospital and his OB/GYN residency at Hahnemann College.
He began his career as an OB/GYN in 1978 and has delivered more than 6,000 babies. He started practicing in Denton, Texas, in 1979.
Determined to provide advanced therapies to the greatest number of patients, Dr. Mantri trains both local and national doctors in urogynecology and da Vinci robotic surgery. He’s proud of staying up-to-date with the most current techniques in minimally invasive surgery and pelvic floor reconstruction.
Dr. Mantri is a member of the Texas Medical Association and the American Urogynecologic Association. Other professional organizations he’s active in include the Denton County Medical Society and the Southwest Physicians Association.
Married with two children, Dr. Mantri enjoys spending time with his family. When his boys were younger, Dr. Mantri served as their assistant scoutmaster and proudly watched them each achieve Eagle Scout status. Dr. Mantri volunteers surgical care in his native India. He is also an avid racquetball player and gardener.
