On September 1, 2019, Julia Geynisman-Tan, MD joined the faculty of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine’s Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS)/ Urogynecology. Dr. Geynisman-Tan takes pride in empowering women with knowledge and choices so that they may take better care of their own bodies. She loves taking care of women because she has found that when women are healthy and happy, entire families and communities live better. Dr. Julia Geynisman-Tan is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She
completed her fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Northwestern University in 2019 after completing her residency at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell. Dr. Geynisman-Tan is an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is the Director of Fellow Research for the Division of FPMRS and serves as the Assistant Element Leader, Health and Society for the Feinberg School of Medicine’s Office of Medical Education. She is also the founder and medical director of the ERASE Trafficking Clinic at Northwestern and an asylum evaluator for women who have experienced female genital circumcision.
