I grew up in Long Island, New York, followed by 14 years in Boston where I attended Harvard College, Harvard Medical School, and did my urology residency at the Harvard Program in Urology. I then moved to Los Angeles for a year doing a surgical fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.
I took a faculty position at the University of Arizona, where I started a program in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. After 10 years I was recruited to Stanford University, where I established our fellowship training program in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.
As a Professor in the Department of Urology and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, I have 23 years of experience in advocating for and treating women with disorders of the genitourinary system. I have trained nearly 100 residents and fellows on how to care of women.
When I am not operating or seeing patients in clinic, I enjoy running, all things fitness and spending time with my wife of 29 years and my two incredible daughters.
