Samir Derisavifard

Dr. Derisavifard graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Duke University.  He completed his medical education at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School before continuing on to the Smith Institute for Urology of Northwell Health in New York where he completed his surgical internship and urologic residency training. From there, he gained additional sub-specialty training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery by completing a two-year, ACGME-accredited fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.

An enthusiastic researcher during his training, he has studied and published peer-reviewed literature on voiding dysfunction, chronic pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, and various treatments for overactive bladder, including neuromodulation and bladder Botox® use.  He has been inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society and is a recipient of the prestigious American Urological Association (AUA) research scholar fellowship.

Dr. Derisavifard is a strong believer in the practice of evidence-based medicine.  Using the scientific information at hand, it is his goal, along with that of his team, to help educate his patients so they understand their condition on their own terms and are able to make well-informed decisions about their care moving forward.
